I was born in Wales and have lived in the same locality in Flintshire for the last 27 years with my husband, 2 children and a succession of Basset Hounds. Both of our children attended our local school in Nercwys.
I am a fully qualified physics teacher and also have a PhD in Medicine from the University of Liverpool. I worked in medical research for many years until I lost my job when research funding dried up under Gordon Brown. Since that time, I have taken a variety of volunteer roles in the local community which have given me a particular insight into the societal challenges we face.
I am a life long Conservative having joined the party when I was 15. For me the economy is the most important aspect of politics. A strong economy both at the national and local level is the best way to improve people’s lives.
The people of Flintshire have not been well served by a long succession of Labour administrations, and it’s time to vote for a change. If elected, I promise I will work tirelessly to hold the County Council to account, and to get a better deal for the people of Nercwys, Gwernaffield, Gwernymyndd and Pantymwyn.
